The Vision Copen might have caught our attention, but it’s just one of the five Daihatsu concepts set to debut at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, which is the successor to the Tokyo Motor Show.
Beginning with the Daihatsu Osanpo, it’s an electric crossover convertible that blends charming design with heightened ground clearance and a substantial amount of plastic cladding. While it shares the same 3,395 mm (133.7 inches) length as the Copen kei car, the Osanpo boasts a taller stance and an elongated 2,440 mm (96.1 inches) wheelbase.

Moving on to the me:Mo, it’s an urban EV, that places a strong emphasis on sustainability and versatility for various life stages. Sporting a boxy design with rounded corners and a 3-seat cabin, this compact EV measures 2,955 mm (116.3 inches) in length. Despite its smaller stature, the me:Mo compensates with minimal overhangs, compact wheels, and flat sides, likely resulting in a roomy interior.

Lastly, we have the Daihatsu Uniform Truck and Cargo vans, which delve into the future of compact light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Both models share a length of 3,395 mm (133.7 inches) and prioritize straightforward exterior designs for practicality and user-friendliness.
The electric vehicle (EV) platform ensures a flat cargo area that is easily maintainable, and their removable interior and exterior elements make them versatile for a range of work scenarios. Additionally, the battery electric powertrain incorporates an external power supply function, enabling these LCVs to function as mobile shops.
All of the new Daihatsu concepts will be detailed on October 26, and we’re looking forward to seeing the live photos from the show.
