Larry Elder takes aim at San Francisco’s $5 million reparations plan: ‘When do we stop?’

Conservative TV and radio host Larry Elder on Thursday took aim at a new proposal by San Francisco’s reparations committee to pay each Black longtime residents $5 million – while warning that the movement in support of reparations is growing as young people are being “indoctrinated” into its supporting narrative.

“I think the movement is growing,” Elder told Fox News Digital in an interview. “Young woke people are being indoctrinated into believing that systemic racism, structural racism, historical racism is why black people are underachieving.”

Elder, who previously ran for governor of California, was reacting after the San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee, which advises the city on developing a plan for reparations for Black residents, released its draft report last month to address reparations for what it considers 300 years of repression and discrimination for which Black Americans deserve compensation. It cites government policies, Jim Crow laws and redlining for causing the wealth gap between white and black communities.

“While neither San Francisco, nor California, formally adopted the institution of chattel slavery, the tenets of segregation, white supremacy and systematic repression and exclusion of Black people were codified through legal and extralegal actions, social codes, and judicial enforcement,” the draft states.

The draft plan includes a long list of financial recommendations for Black San Francisco residents, including a one-time, lump sum payment of $5 million to each eligible individual.

While there has been significant outrage over the proposal, Elder was not surprised by the plan originating in San Francisco.

“My first reaction is ‘what would you expect from that city?’” he quipped

Elder defined reparations as a “fraction of money from people who were never slave owners to be given to people who were never slaves.” He also highlighted the connection between Democrats and both slavery and oppressive systems like Jim Crow.

SAN FRAN’S REPARATIONS COMMITTEE PROPOSES $5 MILLION TO EACH BLACK LONGTIME RESIDENT, TOTAL DEBT FORGIVENESS

“They were also the party of Jim Crow. All of the Southern governors and senators were the ones supporting Jim Crow…A greater percentage of Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act in the House and the Senate than the Democrats. Democrats founded the KKK, I don’t say the Democratic Party, but Democrats founded the KKK. So Democrats are the ones who ought to be apologizing for slavery, for Jim Crow not anybody else.”

Elder argued that the money would do nothing to solve the underlying issues facing Black Americans, such as the breakdown of the family, and would only serve to exacerbate racial disharmony.

SAN FRAN’S REPARATIONS COMMITTEE PROPOSES $5 MILLION TO EACH BLACK LONGTIME RESIDENT, TOTAL DEBT FORGIVENESS

“So the money won’t do anything other than anger people who are on the hook for paying them with nothing to do with the conditions I just mentioned and will create a great deal of racial strife and tension in America and will create a desire for other people who feel they’ve been warned for money as well.”

He noted that women could have a case for reparations due to their exclusion from the right to vote until the 20th century.

“You could argue that women were shafted out of a lot of social benefits and financial benefits by not having the right to vote until early in the 20th century. So virtually every group can make a case why that group is entitled to something. When do we stop? How do we stop? Where do we stop?”

He noted that reparations were once a fringe idea that has caught on dramatically in recent years, along with other ideas to rectify past wrongs: “Whoever said compound interest is the greatest force in the universe, never encountered white guilt,” he quipped.

As for how people can be helped to succeed in life, Elder’s advice was simple:

“For the most part, if you work hard, invest in yourself, avoid the criminal justice system, don’t have a kid before you’re 20, get married first — you will not be poor. And that’s what we ought to be telling people instead of ‘you’re owed something even though you’re not the one who picked cotton, you’re not the one who suffered because of Jim Crow, you certainly we’re not the ones who were slaves.

“The mentality is you are entitled to something. You are owed something. And that’s probably the most damaging thing of all.”

Fox News’ Jessica Chasmar and William La Jeunesse contributed to this report.

George Santos denies performing as a drag queen in Brazil despite photo: 'categorically false'

Embattled Rep. George Santos, R-NY, denied reports that he once performed as a drag queen named Kitara in Brazil, calling the claims “categorically false” on Thursday.

Claims of Santos time as a drag queen first arose early this week when a Substack by reporter Marisa Kabas unveiled a 2009 photo that appears to Santos in a drag costume. The photo appears to show Santos and another drag queen standing arm-in-arm with a caption naming them “Eula Rorard” and “Kitara Ravache.”

The other drag queen in the photo, Eula, was the source of the report.

“The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or ‘performed’ as a drag Queen is categorically false,” Santos argued on Twitter.

“The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life while I am working to deliver results. I will not be distracted nor fazed by this,” he continued.

GEORGE SANTOS DISMISSED CALLS TO RESIGN FROM CAMPAIGN STAFF AFTER BACKGROUND CHECK UNCOVERED LIES: REPORT

Santos has been plagued by a slew of scandals since being elected to Congress in November. He has admitted to lying about his work and education history, and numerous people have accused him of going by various aliases.

Most recently, a homeless veteran accused him of stealing $3,000 in fundraised cash that was meant to pay for his dog’s surgery.

Santos denied that report as well. Santos said he has no knowledge of the purported scheme involving a charity he claimed to have founded.

“Fake. No clue who this is,” Santos told Semafor.

GEORGE SANTOS REFUSES TO RESIGN AFTER NASSAU COUNTY GOP CALLS ON DISGRACED CONGRESSMAN TO STEP DOWN

Santos faced his first major call to resign last week when Nassau County GOP leaders condemned him in a press conference. Nassau County lies in his New York Congressional district.

“George Santos campaign last year was a campaign of deceit, lies, and fabrication,” Nassau County GOP Chairman Joe Cairo said in a statement. “He has no place on the Nassau County Republican committee, nor should he serve public service, nor as an elected official. He’s not welcome here at GOP HQ.”

Santos is embroiled in multiple local, federal and international investigations regarding allegations of fraud and fabricating his past. During his congressional campaign, Santos falsely claimed he graduated from college with degrees in finance and worked for Goldman Sachs and Citibank. Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly opened an investigation into Santos in late December.

Brazil has also reopened a fraud investigation into Santos relating to a stolen checkbook. Santos has repeatedly ignored requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

JESSE WATTERS: Davos elites are in love with their crazy ideas

Fox News host Jesse Watters roasts the liberal elites at the World Economic Forum along with their green energy ideas and economic policies on “Jesse Watters Primetime.”

JESSE WATTERS: The rich and powerful jetted off to beautiful Davos, Switzerland, this week for the annual World Economic Forum. This is the time of year where billionaires get to rub elbows with politicians, cut insider deals off camera and share their wacky ideas. The wackier the idea, the better they feel about themselves. Not just anybody can get in. It’s an invite-only event. You have to be somebody or know somebody to get through the door.

What kind of badge does Kerry wear? Well, he’s married to someone important, and she’s rich. So, what exactly is Kerry saving us from? Chinese fentanyl? Mexican cartels? ISIS? No, He’s saving us from something much deadlier. A greenhouse gas bomb. If that sounds wacky, don’t worry. Al Gore verified it.

Al Gore could use a massage. I’m worried about him. He doesn’t look very good. Never trust an angry rich guy. Bush beat both of these guys, Gore and Kerry, and look what happened to him. What’s a rain bomb? Meteorologists are supposed to coin terms like that to scare viewers for ratings. What’s next? Snow nukes? Every ocean I’ve ever swam in has been freezing, but Al Gore and Greta Thunberg say the oceans are boiling. Over in Germany, Greta, has been getting dragged out of coal mines by police over her rain bomb protests. She doesn’t want 1 billion climate refugees. Greta wants someone to fix them. She didn’t say anything about the million Ukraine refugees, but she’s worried about the imaginary rain bomb refugees.

Kamala Harris' reported relaunch mocked: 'She's in a better place – better place than where?'

Kamala Harris is gearing up to put her gaffes, missteps and cackling laugh behind her as the vice president’s aides try to relaunch her image.

A new report from Politico claims the veep is “in a better place” after the 2022 midterm elections and ready to hit the road to show off the new and improved version of herself.

“She says she’s in a better place. A better place than where? Because I don’t know where she is,” Greg Gutfeld said Wednesday on “The Five.”

He argued Harris was hired because she was a “historical first,” the first female and first woman of color to become vice president.

BIDEN DEFENDS FIRST YEAR RECORD, SAYS HE ‘DIDN’T OVERPROMISE,’ BUT ‘OUTPERFORMED,’ MADE ‘ENORMOUS PROGRESS’

“Historic first now is an obsession every time the Dems are in power because they use it as a cudgel against Republicans,” Gutfeld said. “Like if you want to vote for a Republican, then clearly you don’t want to be part of this historic first. You must be a racist. You must be, you know, a bigot of some kind.”

He also highlighted a list of historical firsts but also “historical failures” in the Biden administration, such as Sam Brinton, the first openly non-binary senior administration official who was fired after allegedly stealing luggage from two different airports.

“Rachel Levine, Kamala, KJP, Lori Lightfoot. Pete Buttigieg. Even Joe Biden’s a historical first and a failure. He is the first president with no brain connectivity,” Gutfeld quipped.

Co-host Harold Ford Jr. pushed back, saying Harris has shown she can be successful in electoral politics because she was elected to be district attorney, attorney general and senator for California.

However, he argued the vice president “needs a reset.” “The president and the country could use her being a more reliable and effective partner for the president.”

Ford said if Harris could find a better way to tackle border security, it would go a long way in helping President Biden and the country.

“She has more experience than anybody in this administration to deal with crime. She was a DA and she was an AG of the biggest and most populous state in the country,’ he explained.

“Can you imagine if she went around the country collecting best practices, ideas, [and] things that are working? Police officers acting with communities, police officers being funded?”

Don’t let snoops nearby listen to your voicemail with this quick tip

When I listen to voicemail messages, it feels more natural and convenient to play them on the speaker of my iPhone. Sometimes I am so caught up in the routine of catching up to calls that I don’t notice how people around me are able to hear every detail of sometimes sensitive voicemail messages intended for me and not snoops.

CLICK TO GET KURT’S CYBERGUY NEWSLETTER WITH QUICK TIPS, TECH REVIEWS, SECURITY ALERTS AND EASY HOW-TO’S TO MAKE YOU SMARTER

I’ve got the solution that helps me keep my private voicemail messages private. The trick is available to iPhone owners though many don’t know about. It allows you to skip listening to your inbox full of voicemails altogether.

If I don’t listen to my voicemail, how will I know what the message said?

This iPhone feature has been around for quite some time, yet many people still don’t even realize it exists. With the Visual Voicemail feature, every voicemail left in your inbox comes with audio transcription.

HOW TO FORCE YOUR LOVED ONE’S IPHONE TO RING IN AN EMERGENCY

When a person leaves a voicemail for you, your iPhone will automatically transcribe the message they’ve left you so that you can still know what they said without having to spend time listening to the message.

You also will always know when you have a new voicemail, as the visual voicemail feature will show a blue dot next to any voicemail message that has yet to be opened.

How do I look at a voicemail transcription?

  • Open your Phone app
  • Tap on the Voicemail tab
  • Click on one of the messages left in your inbox
  • If your voicemail transcription feature is turned on, you should see a transcription of the message you selected
This is the iPhone's voicemail transcription feature.

(CyberGuy.com)

Something important is that your iPhone must have at least iOS10 or later and must be the model 6s and above to have this feature work.

WHATSAPP ENDING SUPPORT ON SOME DEVICES

Why are there spaces or incorrect words in my transcription?

Sometimes when reading a voicemail audio transcription, you will notice that were are a few words that don’t make sense or some blank spaces with no words at all.

SIMPLE IPHONE HACK MAKES READING EVERY APP EASIER

This is because although the voicemail transcription feature does its best to transcribe the message exactly, it cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. If the person who left you the message has unclear speech, poor cellphone service, or speaks a language that your phone is not set to recognize, there may be a few incorrect or missing words in there.

I usually have no trouble piecing together the whole message even when some parts get misunderstood at times. You should too be able to get a general sense of the message without having to listen to the entire thing.
