NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has snapped a stunning image of the Tarantula Nebula, shedding new light on the brightest region of starbirth in our galactic neighborhood. 

Also known as 30 Doradus, the nebula is a large star-forming region of ionized hydrogen gas that lies 161,000 light-years from Earth in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Its turbulent clouds of gas and dust appear to swirl among the region’s newly formed stars. 

The Tarantula Nebula is home to the hottest, most massive stars known.

The image combines data from two different observing proposals. 

NASA said that the first, which astronomers named Scylla, was designed to explore the properties of the dust grains that exist in the void among stars that make up the dark clouds in image. It reveals how interstellar dust interacts with starlight in different environments.

That proposal complements another program called Ulysses, which characterizes the stars.

The image also includes data from an observing program studying star formation in conditions similar to the early universe, as well as cataloging the stars of the Tarantula Nebula for future science operations with the James Webb Space Telescope.

Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios pleaded guilty Friday and apologized for shoving former girlfriend Chiara Passari to the ground after a heated argument.

But the Wimbledon finalist’s conviction was dismissed because the offense was at the low end of seriousness for a common assault, was not premeditated and he did not have a criminal record.

The assault happened when Kyrgios’ tried to leave Passari during a dispute in January 2021 outside her apartment in Canberra.

Kyrgios called an Uber, but Passari stood in the way of him closing the car door. The driver wouldn’t leave with the door open. At some point, Kyrgios pushed Passari’s shoulders, causing her to fall to the pavement and graze her knee, according facts of the case read in court.

“I respect today’s ruling and am grateful to the court for dismissing the charges without conviction,” Kyrgios said. “I was not in a good place when this took place, and I reacted to a difficult situation in a way I deeply regret. I know it wasn’t OK, and I’m sincerely sorry for the hurt I caused.

“Mental health is tough. Life can seem overwhelming. But I’ve found that getting help and working on myself has helped me to feel better and to be better,” Kyrgios said in a statement issued through a management company.

Magistrate Beth Campbell described the shove as an act of “stupidity” and “frustration.” She also mentioned that Kyrgios’ fame did not help him escape a conviction.

“You’re a young man who happens to hit the tennis ball particularly well, and your name is widely recognized outside this courtroom,” Campbell told Kyrgrios. “I deal with you exactly the same way as any young man in this court,” Campbell said.

Kyrgios’ psychologist, Sam Borenstein, testified that Kyrgios had suffered major depressive episodes around the time of the assault. He added that the tennis star’s mental health impacted his behavior.

He also recently suffered a knee injury and was using crutches.

“He’s doing very well,” Borenstein said. “His mental health has improved significantly.”

“Given the history, he is still vulnerable to recurrent episodes of depression depending on life circumstances,” Borenstein added.

Kyrgios’ attorneys tried to have the charge dismissed on mental health grounds. Passari signed a police statement alleging the assault 11 months later, after she and Kyrgios had broken up.

In court, the magistrate asked Kyrgios if he could stand to enter a plea. 

“Yep, no worries, your honor,” he said as he rose to plead guilty.

Kyrgios withdrew from this year’s Australian Open due to the knee injury, which required arthroscopic surgery.

Zuckerberg’s path to Facebook started in 2003 with an online program called Facemash, of which he was primary developer.

The concept revolved around the notion that students could judge the attractiveness of fellow college students who were using the program, according to Britannica.

This intriguing site was different — allowing students to post photos and information about themselves, such as their class schedules, according to Britannica.

The popularity increased — and the site was soon expanded to include students at Yale and Stanford.

By the end of 2004, The Facebook had over one million users — and Zuckerberg had dropped out of Harvard to run the business. 

Continued success came when the platform introduced a tagging feature and unlimited photo uploads — and lowered the sign-up age to 13.

Facebook was also able to monetize its app early on by allowing companies to buy advertisement space within the site.

Zuckerberg’s technology company Facebook, Inc. today owns multiple companies such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and more. 

In October 2021, Facebook, Inc. announced that its parent company name would change to Meta Platforms — alluding to a virtual reality experience for users on their platforms, according to Britannica. 

“Real Time” host Bill Maher harshly criticized President Biden for having the family of Tyre Nichols attend his upcoming State of the Union address on Feb 7. 

“I feel like this is tragedy porn,” Maher reacted to the news. “I really feel like this is gross. You know, it’s too soon to impose on that family now in their hour of grief to help you politically. I mean, it’s stunt casting, which they always do at the State of the Union address. And I just, I just feel it’s… we should be better than that.”

“It’s exploitative of a family in grief, newly in grief,” Maher added.

Both of Maher’s panelists, New York Times columnist Bret Stephens and Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., pushed back at the criticism toward Biden. 

“That’s a call for the Nichols family to make,” Stephens said, recalling the widow who attended former President George W. Bush’s State of the Union after 9/11. “Those are intensely, intensely personal calls.”

Gallego invoked former President Donald Trump inviting the late conservative radio giant Rush Limbaugh to his last State of the Union to give him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, something the Democrat suggested was a prime example of “stunt casting.”

The HBO star later urged to “get rid of the State of the Union,” something Stephens agreed with, equating the yearly tradition to the Oscars. 

“It’s depressing,” Maher said. “Because it used to be a place where we would see us come together. I remember Gerald Ford was able to say, like 50 years ago, ‘The state of our union is bad,’ which no one would ever say because then it would be in every campaign commercial, but we trusted each other. It’s like, ‘Oh, you know what? Things do suck, and we’re all gonna pull together. And the dude in charge is admitting it and we’re all gonna work together.’ That would never happen.”

Gallego defended the State of the Union, telling Maher “traditions do matter” and that “it’s important for the president to communicate his vision and speak to the country.”

29-year-old Nichols died from his injuries days after he was brutally beaten by Memphis police officers following a traffic stop on Jan. 7. 

Demetrius Haley, Tadarrius Bean, Emmitt Martin, Desmond Mills and Justin Smith were fired on Jan. 18 and later charged with second-degree murder. The former officers could face up to 60 years in prison if convicted.

A sixth officer, Preston Hemphill, was terminated and has been departmentally charged with “multiple” violations of policy. It is unclear whether he will similarly face any criminal charges. 

He messed with drugs and tarts, now his story is falling apart. But can they keep the walls from closing in on Biden family sins? 

Well, Hunter hopes so. As his story collapses like a hooker OD-ing at a Motel 6, his lawyer turned to two Delaware prosecutors with deep ties to the Biden family to probe the infamous laptop.

Here she is in a tweet from April 2022, I believe that’s her on the right — I think. Who knows? Who knows these days, right? She could be on the left. Good for her. Good for her if she’s both, maybe she’s two-headed. She tweeted the Hunter Biden laptop was a “straw man” argument.

As of Friday, the balloon was hovering over the central U.S. and moving eastward at an altitude of about 60,000 feet, according to the Pentagon. The big white balloon, which is expected to remain in U.S. airspace for a few more days, was apparently visible over Missouri around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Montana’s Billings Logan International Airport was briefly shut down Wednesday after the FAA temporarily closed nearby airspace because of the balloon.

Canada’s government published a statement Thursday saying it had detected a high-altitude surveillance balloon.

“Canadians are safe and Canada is taking steps to ensure the security of its airspace, including the monitoring of a potential second incident.” Canada’s National Defense said in a statement.

The Pentagon did not return a request for comment from Fox News Digital but told other media outlets it was not commenting on the location of the Chinese balloon.

A man who told police he wanted to kill the Queen of England has been charged with treason in the first case in decades to tackle the crime.

Jaswant Sing Chail, 21, was arrested on Christmas 2021 at Windsor Castle trying to scale the walls while carrying a crossbow. When questioned by police, he told them “I am here to kill the queen.” 

Chail has now pleaded guilty to a charge under the U.K.’s Treason Act, which makes it a crime to “injure the person of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, or to alarm her Majesty,” along with charges of making threats to kill and possessing an offensive weapon. 

He appeared at London’s Central Criminal Court via video link from Broadmoor, a secure psychiatric hospital where he remains in custody.

In the video posted to Snapchat right before he attempted to enter the castle, he said, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry for what I’ve done and what I will do. I will attempt to assassinate Elizabeth, Queen of the Royal Family,” The BBC reported.

The massacre, which occurred when British troops opened fire on thousands in the city of Amritsar after the people gathered in protests against the Rowlatt Act. The death toll is disputed but ranges from hundreds to over 1,000.

Chail may have also tried to get close to the royal family by applying to join the Ministry of Defense Police and the Grenadier Guards, according to the BBC.

Metropolitan Police Counterterrorism Command chief Richard Smith stressed that this was “an extremely serious incident.” He praised the officers who patrolled the castle grounds for their “tremendous bravery” who detained Chail “without anyone coming to harm.”

Treason used to carry a punishment of death, but amendments made in 1998 through the Crime and Disorder Act changed the maximum sentence to life imprisonment. The last hanging for high treason occurred in 1946 for William Joyce, a World War II Nazi propaganda broadcaster.

Charges under the Treason Act remain rare, with the last known trial in 1981 when Marcus Sarjeant was charged for firing blank shots at the queen as she rode on horseback in the Trooping the Color parade in London. He was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty.

FIRST ON FOX: Two boys, ages 15 and 12, wrecked their vehicle after vaulting onto a highway as they attempted to evade law enforcement while smuggling an illegal immigrant in Texas — the latest shocking high-speed chase at the border involving human smuggling.

The incident took place on Wednesday in Frio County, when the 15-year-old driver led Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on a high speed pursuit on IH-35.

With a 12-year-old passenger who authorities said was a runaway and also involved in the smuggling, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the wet road conditions, hit an embankment, went airborne and hit IH-35.

Video obtained by Fox News shows the boys calling for help from the wreckage and officers smashing the windows to get them out. Authorities said that the illegal immigrant being smuggled was located in the vehicle with “incapacitating injuries” and transported to a hospital.

The vehicle was stolen out of San Antonio, and the 15-year-old has been charged with evading arrest causing bodily injury, human smuggling causing bodily injury, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and drug possession.

Everybody survived.

The shocking video highlights the problem of human smuggling at the border, which can frequently involve cartels recruiting teens, including American citizens, on social media and elsewhere to smuggle illegal immigrants deeper into the U.S.

The arrest was made by Texas DPS, who have had their resources and presence increased in response to Texas’ Operation Lone Star — launched by Gov. Greg Abbott in response to the ongoing migrant crisis at the border.

Last week, an officer stopped a vehicle carrying four illegal immigrants being smuggling into the U.S.

The driver, identified as Jose Maximo Viera, evaded the trooper through multiple cities, rural roads and dirt roads. During the pursuit, speeds reached 110 miles per hour. Viera reportedly lost control of the vehicle several times due to its speed and wet road conditions.  

Viera and the passengers bailed out of the car and ran toward the brush, where troopers located them. Along with Viera, troopers located two men, one woman and a 2-year-old boy from El Salvador hiding in the brush.

There were 251,000 migrant encounters in December alone. Meanwhile, there have so far been over 300,000 “gotaways” – illegal immigrants who have evaded Border Patrol – this fiscal year so far, sources told Fox News this week.
